Original Poem: “The Ocean”

The ocean

Blooms upon the shore

The shore welcomes it

The ocean

Crashing, booming

Invades travelers

The ocean

Not a care for safety, not a care for gentleness

The ocean

Ransacks our villages,

Drowning them in seaweed.

Stinky seaweed, slimy as glue

The ocean

Alone, afraid

We dump our waste in it’s waters

Not a care for safety, not a care for gentleness

The waters thrash and scream

They roll and quake

They shake and squirm in agony.

The ocean

Crushing, flowing

It rushes, strong as gravity’s pull.

The ocean

Alone, alone, alone.

The ocean

A mother to thousands,

Thousands and thousands

And yet,

Completely

Alone.

The ocean

Is welcome upon the shore,

No idea what lies in store.

Thanks for reading my first ever poetry post! I hope you liked it! Alot of my poetry right now will be ones I wrote in past grades, but I will eventually get around to writing new ones too. I can’t wait to publish more! Do any of you also do poetry? Let me know in the comments!
