Top Ten Tuesday: “Favourite Books I read in 2019”

Here is the last Top Ten Tuesday of the year (and the decade!!). Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly listing book meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl where you list your top ten responses to the prompt. This week the prompt is “Favourite Books I Read in 2019”, which is super exciting because I get to share some books I highly recommend with you all. Most of my favourite books that I have read I also posted reviews for, so if you haven’t read some of them I will link the corresponding posts to the book titles in the list below! Enjoy!

“Favourite Books I read in 2019”

  1. Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan, which has to be mentioned because it is a truly extraordianry book and I’m so glad I discovered it this year!
  2. The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi. I’ve been mentioning this a lot lately, but I swear it seriously is a marvelous addition to my bookshelf in so many ways.
  3. The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson, which was an absolutely amazing middle book for this mystery trilogy. This trilogy is also ending soon and I am so nervous and excited to read the final installment!
  4. Stain by A. G. Howard, which was a super magical and atmospheric read that I will never forget.
  5. This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzie Lee, which was this author’s debut novel that I finally read this year, therefore falling in love with her writing even more.
  6. The Tyrant’s Tomb by Rick Riordan, because every book he has ever written is one of my favourite books ever.
  7. The Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare, which further proved my love for the world this author has created and made all of my dreams come true.
  8. Reverie by Ryan La Sala, which I took a chance on and absolutely adored (review coming this Friday!).
  9. Scythe by Neal Shusterman. I haven’t finished this book at the time I am writing this post, but my goal is to finish it before 2020 and it is already such an immersive and explosive story that I have no doubts that I will.
  10. Flashback by Shannon Messenger because until this series is finished each installment will be on my yearly favourites list.

Happy New Year’s Eve and I’ll talk to you all in the next decade! What were some of your favourite books this year?
