Top Ten Tuesday: “The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Bookshelf”

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly listing book meme hosted by Artsy Reader Girl where participants list their top ten answers to the prompt. This week’s prompt makes me very very happy, because I get to talk about some new books that I have and then don’t have to include them in my next monthly book haul. The list was getting quite long because of how many thrifted books I’ve found recently for cheap prices! I just love second hand… anyway without further adieu here are some recent additions to my bookshelf!

  1. One of Us is Next by Karen M. McManus: This was preordered for me for Christmas and I’m really excited to see what new mystery this author has cooked up.
  2. A Conference of Birds by Ransom Riggs: This was another gifted preorder that I just received in the mail. I am unable to explain how much I am looking forward to this. Totally unable. It is a large amount.
  3. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte: I found a lovely edition of this at a second hand bookstore and I’m excited to be collecting more classics!
  4. Loki (Where Mischief Lies) by Mackenzie Lee: I’m so in love with all of Mackenzie Lee’s books, but haven’t read this one yet so I needed to fix that.
  5. Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux: Another classic that I found second hand! I love this musical so I expect it will be interesting to see the story told in book format.
  6. Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo: I haven’t ever read anything by this author but I’m about to start reading her work and have a feeling I will really enjoy it!
  7. Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea by Jules Verne: Yet another classic story and a sci-fi one no less!
  8. Around the World in Eighty Days and Five Weeks in a Balloon by Jules Verne (in one volume): I figured I should get several of his novels while I could, so hopefully I find them all interesting.
  9. Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Mass: This is another author I haven’t read anything by, but I’ve heard her writing is similar to Cassandra Clare’s, which I love, so I hope to try out her books!
  10. Little (grrl) Lost by Charles De Lint: I was recommended this book by a bookseller and thought why not?

Thanks for tagging along! Feel free to share your TTT in the comments below or talk to me about what books you’ve added to your shelf recently!

  1. Great list. My most recent purchase was a coffee table book about Saturday morning cartoons. I’ve also been getting a bunch of books sent to me to read and review, and overall, they’ve been pretty good. So I think 2020 will be a great year for books.
