Still Star-Crossed (and Something Rotten)

This post is a Shakespeare themed post. Mainly I am reviewing Still Star-Crossed, which is based on Romeo and Juliet. It wasn’t written by Shakespeare and has nothing to do with the man himself except the fact that it continues his story in Verona. It features Romeo’s first love, Rosaline, and other characters from the original play. However, this post isn’t just that… You’ll see!...

The Lunar Chronicles

For a change, I am going to be reviewing a series in its entirety in just one blog post. I can remember seeing the covers for this series of books and always wondering about what secrets were hidden beneath them. A Glass shoe, a red cape… what did these things represent? After some time, I read the synopsis and realized that they were one of my favorite types of stories: fairy-tale re-tellings...

Hollow City

I took quite a long break between reading the first book, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and reading this sequel. The first book was good, but I wouldn’t have considered it to be one of my favorites. This was the reason that I didn’t end up continuing to read the series. However, after much egging on from my friend, I asked her to loan it to me and I started to read...

April 2017 Book Haul

This is the first time I've ever done one of these (been a lot of those lately). It's also not something I will necessarily do every month, because there might be times where I don't get any books (there's these things called libraries!). However, my local library had a spring sale and I also went to a second hand bookstore, so I figured I might as well do a haul post. All of the synopsis' are copied from Amazon. The images were obtained on Google images...

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

As soon as I’d finished reading the first book, there wasn’t any time to lose. Immediately, I was into the next book, thrilled by the fast-moving plot and dangerous circumstances. Again, I read the book in record time, wishing to finish the series as fast as possible, though another part of me wanted it to last forever. Warning: This review contains spoilers from the first Hunger Games book...

Intermittent Updates

4/27/2017 “Middle of the Night”

Just now as I'm writing this I just listened to the new single from my favorite band: The Vamps. Since they have a blooming awesome new single out, there will be an extra special book review coming out this weekend! They released their book a few months ago and I will review this as well as the normal Saturday review. I hope you all had a lovely day. Do any of you listen to The Vamps too? I would make this a more detailed post, but I have to go have another dance party. Mayah XO
